Thank you from your winner Mario

Hello everyone! First of all, a massive thank you for all the votes that made me win “I’m a Scientist, Get Me Out Of Here”. I’m still shocked about it! All my colleagues in the Cells Zone deserved to win too, we had loads of fun answering your questions both in the live chats and in the forums. Thanks to them as well because their answers were as sharp as some of your questions! I hope you enjoyed as much as I did, and also that you love Science now even more! Remember that if you have the passion for it, you can make it into a Science degree at university, and possibly into a research position. As some of you asked, you become a scientist the time you start studying Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or any other similar subject. You don’t need to wear a lab coat for that, but … Continue reading

What would they both do with the money, you ask? Mario says “I would set up a Science club for schools, with workshops in which students could play and learn using scientific experiments”, Andrew says “Spend it on students for work experience” and Alexis says “I’d use it for 2 things: 1. to make props to visit schools with and show them how cool mitosis is and 2. to sponsor The Cell Experience Project.” The competition is hotting up and the scientists are pulling out all the stops to secure your all important final vote. Only you decide who gets the £500 prize. Not your teacher, not the other scientists. Vote NOW … Continue reading

And rosa59 asks about brain cells: rosa59 : when is the average person got the most brain cells? marioruiz : When we are born our brain is almost developed, and even when some cells inside the … Continue reading
