• Question: Can cells in the digestive system react with one another?

      I’m not quite sure what you mean by this, do you mean ‘can cells from your own body be digested’? If so, then yes they can but only if they escape from the wall of the stomach. The stomach wall releases hydrochloric acid to help digest foods, but it also coats itself in a thick layer of mucous which contains an bicarbonate which is alkaline, which neutralises the acid where the cells are.
