Lots of things! I’m learning how microscopes work (which involves a lot of physics) because I need to use microscopes to look at cells. I’m also learning some engineering. This might sound a bit strange but the way cells communicate with each other involves pathways that in some ways are a bit like electrical circuits. Therefore, by learning some engineering I can understand cells better!
I also learn a lot about research into other diseases by going to lots of seminars by other scientists. This is important because it might be that they use a technique that could be very useful to me but that I’ve never heard about!
