• Question: What is the universe made of?

      That’s a tough question! The easiest way is to answer that the Universe is made of atoms, all belonging to the Periodic Table of Elements. But combination of these gives rise to an enormous amount of different materials and organisms! From diamonds to cats, from planets to trees, from the Sun to a lightbulb. Everything is Chemistry!

      Wow. Not sure I know….but then not sure anyone knows. There’s an awful lot of energy in the universe and dark matter too. Can’t say I understand it though. Time for me to do some reading! You’re never too old to learn

      Hmmmm. I agree – very tough one! The universe consists of planets, stars, galaxies and all matter and energy. Everything in the universe is made up from the elements and elements are made of atoms. So it depends how much detail you want to go into but I think a physicist might be able to answer your question better!
