No because when I was a teenager I didn’t really know what jobs you could do in science. I just kept choosing my favourite subjects – Triple Science for GCSE; Biology, Chemistry, Maths for A-Level, and then at University I did Natural Sciences which was a good combination of Biology, Chemistry and Maths. It was only when I got to University and first worked in a research lab one summer that I realised I wanted to work in a lab. I think that’s why it’s really important to try things out – try and do work shadowing or something like that to see if you like doing a particular job.
