I used to work in Edinburgh and the lab was in the city so you were a short walk from the centre of an amazingly beautiful city with a volcano within walking distance. I don’t think it gets much better than that.

I was offered a job in San Diego in California…..I was very tempted because it was right by the beach with beautiful weather. But I decided to take a job in London because it was a more exciting project for me! I do dream of Californian weather sometimes though!

There’s a lab in Florence, in Italy that I’d really like to work in. It’s a city I’ve never been to, and it’s meant to be absolutely beautiful. And the lab does some really interesting research too, so that’s quite high on my list. I think working in a big city in France would be incredible too. Ultimately, I’m a true Southern girl though so I think I’d like to go abroad for a year or two but I’d always want to come back to the South of England to live long term.

What an interesting question! I think anywhere as long as the project is really interesting and there is a good atmosphere in the work place! I’m a bit like Helen though, I wouldn’t want to be too far away from my family for very long.
