Wow, what a question. I hope so.

What’s really interesting is that from a straight ‘science’ point of view, there certainly is life after death. As organisms decay after death, their components (sugars, proteins, lipids….all the way down to their atoms) can be reused in the rest of life. I guess if I died and was buried under a tree, I would be pretty good fertiliser for that tree.

But I tell you what is really cool…..if the cells in our bodies didn’t die at a high rate, we’d be dead! So death (of cells) is essential to life (and to not having webbed hands and feet!). And do you know how many cells die in your body every day?…..no neither do I and I haven’t got a calculator to hand. But it’s been estimated that one MILLION cells a second die in your body! That’s a lot.

I don’t think we would never be able to answer that question! It’s all about faith and beliefs. In my opinion, there might be something after death, probably we reincarnate in someone’s new with our memory completely erased and ready to live a brand new life! This is more Science Fiction than Science, honestly! 🙂

I personally don’t think so. But it depends on your religion or beliefs on whether you think there might be. I think from a purely scientific point of view though – it’s highly unlikely.

      In my opinion…………………….

NO, when you die, the brain activity that makes you YOU, and makes your body move the way you want, and behave the way you do goes and won’t come back. I think we die and that is it, but also….

YES, the nutrients and components that make up our bodies are recycled into new life. The proteins, fats and carbohydrates that make up our bodies become part of insects and plants, and as those molecules are eaten by other animals, we become part of a constant life cycle.

I really like the idea that although I will die and that will be it, I’ll get to become part of an oak tree, or a cat, or maybe some wheat that becomes bread that feeds a pregnant woman, and maybe some of my molecules will become part of a new human life!! I also like the idea that I may well have some molecules that were part of a dinosaur in me! And so might you….

Hmm, this is an interesting question. I personally don’t think there is a life after death but I agree with Alexis that it is down to a person’s own beliefs.
