      I suppose my favourite part of research is finding out new information and seeing how that links in to what other people have discovered.

      Doing things that noone has ever done before! That and no two days are the same – it’s a mixture of designing experiments, doing experiments, studying data, making hypotheses, giving seminars, listening to seminars, teaching students, having meetings …and lots more!

      The freedom of taking whichever way you like to. After discussing ideas with your supervisors and/or labmates, the final decisions are yours and you can do any experiments you want. Although it is a good idea to check first if the experiments are going to be expensive or not!

      @smokeybacon2000
      So now I am thinking about crisps. I’ve not had smokey bacon in a LONG time.

      My favourite bit about research? Being my own boss and coming up with some ideas that I can just try out. The freedom you have in science is awesome. This lets your brain just run wild and you can come up with some great ideas!

      And this is all done with a great team of people around you so the whole environment is really really exciting.
